The Week’s Program
Program for 6 nights and 7 days
The information for the kilometres in this program is to understand as a minimum – you are free to enlarge the daily stags as you please.
International flight to Oslo from the airport of your choice. The starting point of your tour is Vinstra which your reach conveniently by train directly from Oslo Airport. The travel takes around here hours. From Vinstra Station the hotel bus of your first hotel (Dalseter Hotel) brings you to your first accommodation: check-in and dinner.
Monday: Dalseter – Fefor (18 km)
On Monday you start on the perfectly prepared tracks going south again. Goal of this day is the majestic Fefor Hotel where in the past even the Norwegian Nobility was seeking their relaxation. Here a fantastic ambiance awaits you with an expansive view over the mountains and in the lobby of the hotel café and fresh cakes on the cosy fireplace.
Tuesday: Fefor – Gälä / Wadahl (14 km)
Today’s stage is easy going. Feel free to lengthen your tour as you please. The small village Gälä lies in the middle of a large trail net for both classic and skating style. You stay two nights at Gälä which gives you a perfect opportunity to explore the Norwegian Fjells. And in the evenings of curse you can relax in the sauna.
There is now packing again today, you can start to explore directly. The trails curl along the hills of the Fjell. Good and clear signs help you on each furcation to organize your tour and your day. Back in the hotel at Gälä again a superb dinner and the sauna are waiting for you.
Thursday: Gälä – Kvitfjell (26 km)
Peer Gynt leads you today further sought-east. On this leg you have the Kvitfjell Mountains in front of you – the largest skiing area in the region. To reach your next hotel you slide though 26 kilometres of a breath-taking high plateau. Check-in at Kvitfjell Hotel and dinner.
Friday: Kvitfjell - Skeikampen (22 km)
Your last tracking day leads you from Kvitfjell to Skeikampten with a last short climb on the Fjell top. From here you have again (for your souvenir) a wonderful view over the whole high plateau and its fantastic landscape. And from now on the trails are just sloping for your well-deserved downhill to Skeikampen. There you stay at the Thon Hotel for your last night.
Good-by to Peer Gynt area: the bus takes you to Lillehammer and from there do you reach Oslo by train. Travelling by train in Norway is quite practical and uncomplicated. The trains between Lillehammer and Oslo run every hour, the same also from Oslo City to the International Airport Gardermoen. But it isn’t a farewell after all?
