This hotel is situated in the center of the village. It was completely renovated in 2014. From the lobby, you can see the beginning of all of the trails for Nordic skiing—only 100 meters away. Everyone here is friendly, and the large lobby fireplace will keep you warm. There is a charming bar and a small museum that presents the history of Nordic skiing with lots of information on how the sport has evolved. Breakfast in the restaurant is buffet style as is dinner. There are 200 rooms decorated in Scandinavian style. Each one has a modern bathroom with sauna plus hair dryer, telephone, television, and mini bar.

This is a 4-star hotel situated directly at the base of the skiable terrain. The Hotel Ruka is admirably situated with a view of Mount Ruka, which dominates the entire village. There is also the nature park called Valtavaara. There are cross-country ski trails, there is a panoramic deck with a view of the local mountain and, of course, a sauna.
