The 90 km Vasaloppet in classic style is the most popular and oldest race in the history of cross-country skiing. It is "the" race of the World Long Distance Championship, the Worldloppet. The race starts on the first Sunday in March at 8 a.m. in Sälen, as it has since 1922! Every year, around 16,500 participants compete in classic style over the distance between Sälen and Mora, through forests, hills and frozen lakes.
